Overview
SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Derbyshire. This role involves providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs. Tutors work on a flexible, 1:1 basis with a focus on trauma-informed, holistic support to raise engagement and educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support young people referred by local authorities and schools with their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor responsibilities
* Plan each teaching/tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet the learner’s needs and progress their educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain available at cost)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Employment status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
