Overview
An experienced registered mental health practitioner is sought to join our Patient Flow team as a Team Leader. The role manages the Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) and the Allocate on Arrival teams, ensuring safe, compliant care for individuals detained under Section 135/136 for a Mental Health Act Assessment.
Responsibilities
* Lead the HBPoS and Allocate on Arrival teams, providing clinical and operational leadership.
* Deliver day‑to‑day management, including staffing, supervision, incident management and review.
* Collaborate with Clinical Site Managers and Ward Managers to maintain optimal staffing and operational efficiency.
* Work closely with the Trust Mental Health Legislation Office to ensure legal and policy compliance.
* Act as a liaison with Dorset Police, ensuring HBPoS clinical practice aligns with legal frameworks and the Right Care, Right Person national partnership agreement.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experienced registered mental health practitioner, with extensive knowledge of legal and local frameworks supporting mental health assessments.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams in acute mental health settings, managing crisis situations and supporting staff development.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required – the Trust will cover the cost. DBS‑updated applicants may present a valid certificate instead of requesting a new check.
* Must complete the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course; completion is a condition of employment.
* Eligibility: Candidates requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position.
Job Details
This is a part‑time post of 22.5 hours per week, within core Monday‑Friday hours, based at St. Anns. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered.
