Sr Principal Engineer CTH – Steam Turbine Upgrades & Retrofits Integration
We are looking for an exceptional senior principal engineer to serve as a technical authority for steam turbine upgrade and retrofit integration across fossil and nuclear projects. The role will guide work from tendering through to project execution and support engineering teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
* Lead technical reviews and support tenders and projects for fossil and nuclear steam turbine retrofits.
* Serve as lead reviewer for tenders and project execution, ensuring rigorous and consistent application of design rules.
* Guide and review NPIs for nuclear upgrade design (e.g., HP mixing chamber design).
* Define technology and tools road‑map to drive customer value and engineering productivity.
* Provide authority and technical competence for ITB technology applied in large upgrades.
* Represent GE Vernova technical expertise to customers.
* Consult global engineering teams on resolution of specific technical issues encountered on projects.
* Participate in technical investigations, including RCAs for NCRs, engineering issues, and operational incidents.
* Ensure design rules meet ITR SPS business requirements and foster continuous improvement of standard design rules.
* Attend tender kick‑off meetings to provide technical consultancy and minimize technical risks.
* Promote best‑practice knowledge sharing across SP Operations Engineering.
* Mentor and support global engineering teams during design review processes.
Qualifications
* Deep technical expertise in steam turbine design and operational experience with Rugby‑ITB technology.
* Significant experience in steam turbine design with technical responsibility.
* Strong communication skills, able to present technical data and recommendations.
* Ability to interface with all organizational levels and represent business externally.
* Leadership with uncompromising standards for integrity, compliance, and safety.

* Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
