Overview
Are you looking for a role that specialises in children's residential care, offers flexible hours to fit around your commitments, and requires a full UK manual driving licence? Pebbles Care is building a zero-hour workforce to provide additional support for children and young people across a region or area. Zero-hour employees are eligible for employee benefits and have access to internal opportunities for progression throughout the company.
Responsibilities
* Care for children and young people in all aspects of their lives, including keeping them safe from harm, supporting education, cooking, cleaning, and participating in fun activities.
* Support care teams across several homes in the same area.
* Receive a full induction, shadow shifts, and in-depth training, including a full introduction to Therapeutic Parenting.
* Communicate availability for shifts regularly. Cover as many shifts as possible and carry out at least one shift every four weeks to remain in the role.
* Demonstrate high levels of safeguarding responsibility and accountability when working with children and young people.
* Aim to pursue child care qualifications and training.
* Maintain a nurturing and caring nature, with patience and resilience to form non-judgmental relationships.
* Be an active and supportive listener with effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Display a creative approach to having fun and learning new skills, with proficiency in IT and Microsoft packages.
* Hold a full, valid UK manual driver’s licence (homes have their own manual vehicles).
Qualifications
* One year's experience working with children or young adults is highly desirable.
* SCQF Level 7 (Scotland) or Level 3 Diploma (England) relevant to the Children and Young People’s Residential workforce or a willingness to work towards this.
* Familiarity with Codes of Practice set by regulatory bodies (e.g., SSSC, Ofsted).
* Existing PVG/DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
* Desirable: willingness to obtain required regulatory checks and ongoing training.
