About the Role
We are looking for a Satellite Operation Engineer to join Airbus Defence & Space in Corsham, Wiltshire. You will work with the Secure Communication business line and report to the Spacecraft Operations Team Lead. Your day‑to‑day activities will support the safe and effective operation of our in‑orbit spacecraft platform, including transition to on‑station operations and long‑term health monitoring.
Security Clearance
Must have or be able to obtain UK SC Security Clearance.
Employment
Full‑time permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all operational products are ready for SK6A LEOP and transition to On‑Station.
* Assess and analyse the health of the SKYNET fleet.
* Advise the Spacecraft Management Authority as the SKYNET spacecraft specialist.
* Understand and monitor spacecraft subsystems (platform and payload) through monthly and yearly analysis.
* Provide technical support for spacecraft on‑station operations.
* Write, validate and review SKYNET Operating Procedures and associated documentation.
Qualifications
* Experience in spacecraft operations and a solid understanding of satellite design and AIT phase.
* Strong problem‑identification skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to report succinctly on all aspects.
* UK SC Security Clearance or ability to obtain it.
