Hays Accountancy & Finance are seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead the financial accounting team and play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, andpliance across the group.This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a leadership role and enjoys driving process improvements and delivering strategic financial support to the wider business.
Your new role
1. Oversee thepleteness and accuracy of all financial transactions and ensure timely reporting.
2. Manage monthly balance sheet and ie/expenditure reconciliations.
3. Lead the preparation and submission of statutory returns, including VAT and corporation tax.
4. Drive improvements in financial control processes and ensure month-end deadlines are met.
5. Monitor cash flow and produce accurate forecasting reports.
6. Take ownership of treasury management, including bank mandates and online banking systems.
7. Manage internal and external audit programmes and assist with annual statutory accounts.
8. Lead, motivate, and develop the financial accounting team to deliver a high-performance culture.
9. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
10. Maintain and update financial policies and procedures, ensuringpliance with current standards.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
12. Proven experience in financial accounting and control within aplex organisation.
13. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting.
14. Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
15. Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
16. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.
