Due to growth we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Payroll Assistant to join our Payroll team.
The successful applicant should be dedicated, organised and reliable as well as have excellent communication skills and be able to work on their own initiative.
We offer hybrid working in this role meaning that the successful candidate will work some days in our Ashford office and some days from home.
Main duties of the job
* Producing a high level of data accuracy to our customers.
* Support the Payroll Associate's to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all Payroll forms.
* Processing and checking of confidential information.
* Learning elements of processing and end to end Payroll.

Job responsibilities
Role specific duties and responsibilities
The post holder will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
* Responsible for the accurate data entry of staffpersonal details via change forms into HR systems.
* Action starter, leaver and change forms ensuringaccuracy of information.
* Calculate and input into ESR ad hoc spot salarieswhere appropriate
* Enter relevant allowances intoESR as required i.e. High Cost Area.
* Support the payroll team in the data entry of anybasic payment information.
* Enter information into HR payroll system for thepayment of staff expenses.
* Administration of salary sacrifice scheme asdirected by Payroll Advisor.
* Checking of confidential and accuracy critical datain ESR (bank details).
* Administer all payroll related paper work,scanning, shredding and filing as appropriate.
* Answer telephone calls, taking messages and passingon accurately to the relevant departments.
* Participate in weekly Human Resource callsor monthly operational conferencecalls as required.
* Photocopying and word processing documents,letters, emails and reports when required.
* Responsible for organising meetings for the Payrolland workforce team and planning any administrative work as required.
* Demonstrate office systems and procedures to newteam members.
* Cover and support Payroll associate workload asrequired in periods of sickness, annual leave or high pressures.
* Deputise for the Payroll Coordinator.
* Support the team in production of all monthlypayrolls, ensuring that all processes are completed in line with publishedtimetables.
* Ensure the office environment is kept tidy toensure a professional appearance.
* To facilitate flexible working, although this isthe post holders primary role, you may be required to undertake work inanother role or team, commensurate with the grade of this post, in order toutilise the post holders experience and skills and maximise the efficiency ofthe organisation.
* Undertake research and development as directed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE level education or equivalent, or relevant previous level of experience.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience working within a pay and pensions environment.
* In-depth knowledge of input to HR and Payroll systems.
* Knowledge of MS Office products to include Excel Word and Outlook
* Knowledge of payroll procedures.
Skills & Abilities
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including word and excel.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral where there could be barriers to understanding.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own workload to set deadlines.
* Flexible approach to work.
* Understanding of Data Protection legislation.
