Quality, Risk & Compliance – Assistant Manager
The role
We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Practice Protection department, responsible for quality, risk and compliance matters for Albert Goodman. You will be joining us as we embark on an exciting journey, transforming how we manage the firm’s quality and regulatory risks to protect our fantastic brand and futureproof our growth.
The role is on a full-time basis and can be based in our Taunton or Bristol offices.
We are looking for a compliance professional who has a passion for quality, a risk mindset and an eye for continuous improvement.The role will entail:
* Supporting all quality, risk and compliance activities, which will include supporting on projects as well as dealing with queries relating AML / client due diligence, client contracting and data protection
* Managing the practice assurance (cold file) review process for the firm
* Assessing compliance with regulations and internal policies
* Supporting on any projects arising out of ethical reports, as well as working with the Ethics Partner on any conflicts of interest
* Working within a small team as well as regular liaison with client teams across the firm.
We’ll look to you to provide a professional, friendly, and helpful service to our clients and colleagues. You’ll get to work with a variety of people across AG, and of course our clients as well, so people skills and the ability to build relationships will be a big part of this role.
What we need from you
You will be someone who has:
* Worked in quality, risk and compliance in the accountancy sector or other regulated professional services sector
* Worked on projects that may involve ethical, confidential and potentially sensitive matters
* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – with the ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, adapting communication style accordingly
* High attention to detail, desire to enhance quality of what we do, a curious mindset and the ability to work to tight deadlines
You'll have experience of:
* Regulatory compliance including anti-money laundering, data protection, client monies, financial services
* Quality assurance activities such as cold file reviews and other quality management initiatives
* Monitoring compliance with policies and procedures, and looking for ways to enhance compliance and align with best practice
* Managing small compliance projects
* Training client and non-client teams on compliance with regulations
