Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Doncaster
£39,890 + 8.5% all-inclusive allowance
Hours & Shift Pattern
* 148 hours over a 4-week rota
* Includes 2 weekends working, 2 weekends off
* Shift patterns:
* 7am – 3pm
* 2pm – 10pm
* Sleep-in shifts (2pm – 11pm)
* In absence of the Registered Manager: 8am – 4pm shifts
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a Children’s Residential Home in Doncaster.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager, playing a key role in the day-to-day management of the home. In their absence, you will take full responsibility for the service, ensuring high-quality care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the overall management and efficient running of the home
* Lead on safeguarding practices and ensure compliance at all times
* Develop and monitor high-quality, individualised care plans
* Supervise, support, and develop the staff team
* Manage rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels
* Conduct audits and drive continuous quality improvement
* Build strong partnerships with families, professionals, and external agencies
* Support recruitment, induction, and training of staff
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards
* Act as building manager, ensuring Health & Safety, Fire, and Environmental compliance
About You
* Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within children’s residential care
* Experience supporting young people with complex and challenging behaviours
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality standards
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Flexible and resilient, with the ability to respond to crisis situations
Qualifications
* Level 3 QCF Children & Young People (or equivalent) – desirable
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Care) – desirable
* Willingness to undertake further training, including physical intervention where required
