Business Development Manager – Energy Sector (UK & Ireland)


Location: Home-Based / Remote (UK & Ireland Coverage)

Sector: Renewables / Zero Emissions Technologies


SR2 is proud to be working alongside one of Germany's largest and oldest global engineering and technology business', renowned for its innovation in industrial connectivity, automation, and energy solutions. Due to continued growth across the UK and Ireland, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join the Energy division, focusing on emerging and zero-emission technologies including Solar, Wind, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and Hydrogen.


What will you be doing?


This national role will be pivotal in driving business growth through the development of new and existing relationships across key market segments. You will work closely with customers, end users, EPCs, and system integrators to deliver engineered solutions into single and repeat projects. The role demands a consultative sales approach with a focus on long-term pipeline development, strategic partnerships, and technical solution design.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline within the renewables and emerging energy segments
* Drive year-on-year sales growth aligned with business targets
* Engage with key decision-makers at all levels to ensure the growth of technology solutions
* Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including field sales, marketing, and international colleagues
* Deliver customer presentations, training sessions, and represent the company at exhibitions and industry events
* Maintain up-to-date CRM data and contribute to regular reporting and forecasting
* Support product and solution launches within the local market


What are they looking for?

* Proven experience in renewable energy sectors (Solar, Wind, Hydrogen, ESS)
* Background in industrial connectivity, automation, or control systems is highly desirable
* Strong commercial and technical acumen with a track record of developing business from design through to delivery
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
* Highly self-motivated, organised, and able to manage a remote national role effectively
* HNC or equivalent technical qualification preferred
