Job Description for Laboratory Scientist
This position is a member of the Product Development Team, responsible for designing, performing, and interpreting experiments to support Revvity’s product development workstream under supervision from their line manager.
The candidate will ensure experiments are well-organized, managing equipment time, availability, lab space, and experimental design to generate timely results.
Autonomy in experiment preparation is required to maximize efficiency across projects.
All data, experiments, reports, and lab books must be properly documented and maintained as per Revvity’s standards.
Effective time management to meet deliverables is essential. This is a full-time, lab-based role.
Overall Responsibilities:
* Participate as a functional member of workstreams within Revvity’s project management system.
* Supervise new team members occasionally.
* Perform routine laboratory testing.
* Assist other departments, including regulatory and quality, on development projects.
* Engage in project meetings, contributing to experiment design and project direction decisions.
* Generate and defend data independently.
* Produce and present reports to the development team and wider Revvity community.
Specific Deliverables:
* Conduct experiments and maintain records as defined by workstreams, ensuring timely completion.
* Communicate any delays or issues promptly to supervisors.
* Travel to internal and external sites as needed to meet project milestones.
* Prioritize workload to meet key objectives.
* Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
* Present data at internal meetings.
* Ensure projects comply with the Company’s Quality Management System and regulatory standards.
* Write accurate conclusions reflecting the data in experimental reports.
* Support projects within the development department as a scientist, adhering to ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 17025:2005 standards.
* Conduct literature reviews to high standards.
* Uphold Revvity’s company values.
Candidate Profile:
* Understanding of diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries.
* Knowledge of assay development or molecular diagnostics.
* Flow cytometry experience.
* Familiarity with GMP, ISO systems, and Quality System concepts.
* Dedicated laboratory scientist, primarily working in a lab environment.
* Minimum BSc in life sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or Biology).
* Experience with T Cell/Antibody technology, ELISPOT, ELISA, cell culture, and cell isolation.
* Problem-solving skills and data critical assessment.
* Knowledge of cell activation and assay development.
* Proficiency in Windows and Office applications.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, work effectively in a team, and communicate clearly at all levels.
* Adaptability to changing project priorities and professional time management.
