Position Details
* Offices at Taunton, Bridgwater, Shepton Mallet, Yeovil as required.
* 37 hours per week, full-time, permanent.

Team and Responsibilities
Somerset Council’s Environmental Health team covers health and safety, food safety, environmental protection, and private sector housing. Responsibilities include:
* Investigation and enforcement of noise, nuisance, and complaints.
* Sampling and risk assessment of private water supplies.
* Providing comments on environmental aspects of planning and licensing applications.
* Inspections under the Environmental Permitting Regulations.
* Arranging public health funerals.
* Advising on air quality and contaminated land issues.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should be organized, self-motivated, and team players with good knowledge of relevant legislation, inspection experience, and strong communication skills. Continuous professional development is encouraged.
