The Business Data Analyst works closely with Business Teams to help decision taking. It is 50% technical and 50% working with different functions and bringing them along on a data journey.
Purpose of the role:
* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of our master data.
* Manage requests for information in the form of reports.
* Deliver an excellent standard of service to all key internal customers.
* Analyse complex data sets, identify trends and opportunities, and offer insights and recommendations to business stakeholders.
* Provide data based forecasting and financial insight to enable business decisions.
* Produce presentation materials & forecasts to assist with merchant retention, growth & acquisition.
* Ongoing analysis & insight re: impact of marketing activity on boosting active consumer engagement, spend and purchasing behaviours.
What you'll be doing:
* Maintenance, upgrades, and improvements of existing BI reports
* Gather requirements for all new requests, working closely with business stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
* Effective and timely communication of findings and opportunities to the relevant business stakeholder
* Produce presentation materials & forecasts to assist with merchant retention, growth & acquisition
* Design, develop & maintain standard dashboards & reports
* Financial & commercial insight - provide forecasting and insight to enable business areas to make effective business decisions.
* Ongoing analysis & insight re: impact of marketing activity on boosting active consumer engagement, spend and purchasing behaviours.
Leveraging a solid background in Statistics, the Data Analyst will formalize Business Issues as Data models and Data Visualization:
* Seasonal adjustment on time series
* Regression models (OLS / Logistic)
* Control Groups definition (sampling)
* Advanced Data management / encoding

Education Requirements:
* Degree level educated or Equivalent technology/data qualifications.
Work Experience Requirements:
* Previous experience - 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or financial reporting role.
* Problem-solving attitude - Ability to understand complex situations and to present synthesis
* Customer-focused - Ability to understand internal customers and translate requirements into actionable tasks
* Positive and proactive - Glass half-full attitude, with great initiative, naturally curious and willing to learn
* Business acumen with ability to monetise data to deliver against strategic objectives
* Languages: Candidates should be well versed in English written and spoken, able to articulate and challenge is key part of the job profile.
Competencies:
* Excellent numeracy and IT skills (particularly Office 365)
* High level of analytical skills
* Experience with BI & Analytic tools (Tableau, Qlik or Power BI)
* A passion for attention to detail and getting it right first time
* Able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines
* Able to manage multiple queries at one time
* Ability to look beyond the numbers to identify issues, anomalies and understand root cause
* Adaptable to changing priorities and requests
* Existing and demonstrable track record in merchants and/or consumer datasets
* Commercial acumen
Desirable:
* SQL/DAX query writing skills
* Experience in storytelling
* Experience in developing PowerBI report
