Base salary: £29,009 - £35,015
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30; Friday 08:00 – 15:30
What You Will Do
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
* Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
* Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
* Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively to create a secure and well‑maintained environment for staff and residents.
* Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when requested.
* You’ll be responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work are consistently implemented and followed across all appropriate work streams.
* Assist escorting duties and other duties as required.
What You Will Bring
* City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
* BS7671 18th Edition (17th Edition accepted with up‑skilling to 18th Edition).
* Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
* Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Able to work at heights, independently and with initiative.
* Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
