Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics with a specialist interest in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Foot & Ankle Surgery. This post will support the delivery of high-quality elective and trauma care within our busy Orthopaedic department, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient services.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and forward-thinking team of consultants. This role is essential in maintaining clinical continuity in paediatric and foot & ankle services, and offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to service development and multidisciplinary care.
This locum post is available for an initial fixed-term period, with the possibility of extension depending on service needs. The postholder will be expected to participate in the trauma on-call rota and provide supervision to junior medical staff.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for delivering high-quality care in trauma and orthopaedics, with a specialist focus on paediatric orthopaedics and foot & ankle surgery. Duties will include elective and trauma operating, outpatient clinics, and participation in the on-call rota. The post also includes supervision of junior medical staff and involvement in clinical governance activities.
