Hutcheon Mearns is working with a reputable educational institution which offers a flexible and diverse workplace to hire an experienced Accountant for a 6 month interim position, with the potential to go permanent. This is a full time role (35 hours per week). Our client is based in Aberdeen City Centre with hybrid and flexible working. This role is critical for delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance during a period of significant transition. Our client is looking for candidate’s who can start within one month notice. The Opportunity Create a suite of balance sheet reconciliations Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance Review and enhance financial controls and processes Assist with forecasting and financial analysis Provide ad hoc financial insight to support business decision-making Mentor junior finance staff as needed Background and Experience Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or QBE with relevant experience 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role Experience with audit, financial reporting, and compliance Familiarity with Excel (e.g., pivot tables, financial modelling) High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Excellent communication Flexibility and Benefits Competitive day rate Hybrid working (50% home/50% office) Flexible working 35 hour working week Next Steps If you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you!
