We are looking for well-organised and self-motivated people interested in a career in one of the UK’s leading waste and recycling companies. You will be responsible for overseeing daily production, ensuring throughput and quality targets are met efficiently and safely while working with the Maintenance team to optimise plant performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with company policies. Working in our Long Marston site, the successful candidate will be part of a team working under the supervision of a knowledgeable and Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day production operations to achieve tonnes-per-hour targets.
* Ensure plants are running at maximum capacity and hoppers are consistently filled.
* Manage the quality team to ensure a balance of throughput with material quality and equipment care.
* Oversee End of Month stock control process to ensure accurate and concise data is available to the business.
* Oversee operatives and samplers ensuring all staff are performing efficiently.
* Create plant shift planners and assign operatives to positions weekly.
* Develop incentivisation programs for high performers and manage disciplinary actions for underperformance in partnership with the HR team.
* Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies across all work environments.
* Actively promote a safety-first culture among the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor safety practices on-site and address unsafe behaviors or conditions promptly.
* Manage and oversee the input of Production Data and subsequent reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
* Prepare daily production plans, determining which materials to process and in what order. Adjust plans as necessary based on plant performance, material availability, and operational priorities.
* Work closely with the maintenance team to address equipment issues and minimise downtime.
* Ensure that production activities do not compromise the long-term performance or reliability of plant equipment.
* Apply lean processing systems to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in production.
* Monitor waste streams to reduce recoverable metal losses and maximise material recovery.
* Comply with all company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community standards.
* Uphold and ensure adherence to company values and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Knowledge
* Understanding of lean processing systems and operational efficiency strategies.
* Proficiency in creating shift schedules and production plans.
* Working knowledge of maintenance coordination and plant equipment optimization.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, including team motivation and conflict resolution
