Overview
Aon’s Wealth Solutions: Retirement global team of specialists advises businesses on defined benefit pension schemes. In this Industrial Placement you will earn as you learn, build your career as an Actuary and become a trusted adviser to clients across a diverse and complex range of topics.
Responsibilities
* Regular assessment of the financial position of pension schemes.
* Identify and implement ways for trustees and companies to reduce longevity, investment and inflation risks.
* Carry out calculations relating to the scheme for the company’s financial accounts and members’ benefits.
* Estimate pension protection fund levies.
* Day‑to‑day management of the pension scheme and internal projects.
* Build and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders of the scheme.
* Attend and present at client meetings.
* Work on specialist risk settlement, member options and demographic analysis teams.
Development Programme
* Business learning on the job to develop knowledge of your team and solution line.
* Centralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops to build confidence and network across Aon.
* Feedback: discuss goals and receive support throughout the 12‑month programme.
Locations
Our Wealth Solutions: Pensions teams are based across the UK. Current Industrial Placement locations this year: Birmingham, Epsom (Surrey), Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and St Albans (Hertfordshire). The first six months are based in the office; thereafter you will work flexibly and spend at least 3‑4 days face‑to‑face in the Aon office or with clients.
Entry Requirements
* On track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in maths, actuarial science or other highly numerical degree.
* Achieved an A‑grade or above in Maths A‑level, A‑grade in Maths Scottish Higher or equivalent.
* Practical skills in Python, SQL, VBA or cloud platforms.
