Overview – About The Role
Unfinished is the media agency that’s never done. This spirt of relentlessness runs through out team and approach. We are looking for a Senior Account Director who is never done growing accounts. Never done improving outcomes. Never done finding smarter ways to unlock client success.
The successful candidate will have strong cross-channel and planning experience to work across a portfolio of clients in the retail and ecommerce sectors. You will push forward the day-to-day output across your accounts, ensuring client deliverable maintain a consistently high standard. You will take a leading role in the strategy and planning responses, including presenting back to clients.
Key aspects of the role:
1. Client Leadership + Relationship Ownership
* Owns senior client relationships (often CMO/Marketing Director level)
* Acts as the strategic partner, not just campaign manager
* Leads annual planning, regular business reviews, and growth roadmaps
* Anticipates client challenges and identifies opportunities proactively
* Manages conflict resolution and protects long-term client retention
2. Commercial Growth & Revenue Accountability
* Responsible for account profitability (revenue, margin, fee structures)
* Identifies upsell/cross-sell opportunities across media, creative, data, and tech
* Negotiates scopes of work, contracts, and remuneration models
* Oversees forecasting, budget pacing, and financial health of accounts
3. Strategic Oversight
* Ensures media strategy aligns with client business objectives
* Challenges briefs to improve effectiveness
* Oversees integrated channel planning (TV, digital, OOH, search, social, etc.)
* Pushes innovation, test-and-learn frameworks, and competitive advantage
* Converts data into business outcomes (not just media metrics)
4. Operational Excellence
* Liaises with buying and functional team to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and to KPI
* Oversees reporting frameworks and performance governance
* Coordinates between planning, buying, analytics, and creative teams
* Improves internal processes, SLAs, and quality control
* Escalation point for major delivery issues
There will be plenty of opportunities to take a broader role in the agency – such as working on and leading pitches, developing our approach to marketing and new business, developing the agency proposition, skills sets and category expertise.
