In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining consistency and high-quality learning in the absence of the class teacher. You will be responsible for supervising whole classes, delivering pre-set work, and ensuring that pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on task. Key Responsibilities Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials to classes across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Managing classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment Communicating clearly and confidently with pupils and staff members Adapting quickly to different subjects, year groups, and classroom needs Supporting the school’s ethos by helping inspire curiosity and a love of learning About You The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of academic ability, practical experience, and essential personal qualities, including: Confidence in leading a class and maintaining discipline. Strong communication skills to explain instructions clearly and liaise effectively with teaching and support staff. Flexibility and adaptability to work across various year groups and subjects. Patience, resilience, and a calm approach, particularly when managing challenging behaviour. A basic understanding of the national curriculum and knowledge of child development stages.
