Location: Gatwick / Hybrid

Are you an experienced journalist looking to make your next career move into the fast-paced world of commercial content within the exciting food, drink, and hospitality industry? Or perhaps you are a Commercial Content Editor seeking your next challenge?

We are looking for a Commercial Content Editor to drive a new era of digital revenues across our hospitality brands, including MCA, The Morning Advertiser, and Restaurant. The role involves working closely with our commercial, editorial, and social media teams, managing commercial content projects from inception to delivery and reporting, creating engaging content that benefits readers and ensures ROI for advertisers.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Collaborating proactively with the commercial team to generate new content ideas, audience engagement strategies, and revenue opportunities, while evolving our commercial content strategy.
2. Researching, writing, and editing commercial and promotional content.
3. Participating in client calls and proposing innovative content ideas to attract new business.
4. Managing project schedules to meet deadlines.
5. Building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth delivery.
6. Monitoring and reporting on the performance of client campaigns according to KPIs.
7. Providing post-campaign feedback to teams and sharing best practices.
8. Managing freelance editors, videographers, and designers to ensure content is delivered on time and within budget.
9. Occasionally interviewing clients face-to-face and hosting roundtables, podcasts, and event segments.
10. Uploading content to the CMS and creating visuals for the website.

Requirements

What you’ll need:

1. A strong, imaginative journalist with a proven track record of producing engaging, informative content, preferably with a B2B or hospitality focus.
2. Experience working with clients to produce content that meets audience needs and delivers value to clients, ideally within an in-house publisher or agency setting.
3. Experience in face-to-face content production is desirable but not essential.
4. A creative mindset with business acumen to solve problems, challenge norms, and influence outcomes.
5. Excellent organization and prioritization skills, self-driven, able to work independently at pace under tight deadlines, and collaborative.
6. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a proactive approach to engaging stakeholders.
7. Outstanding attention to detail.
8. Knowledge of MS Office, CMS, and digital content creation tools (Arc XP, Short-Hand, Webvision is desirable).
9. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
