Job Description:
We are looking for an Account Manager (Maternity Cover) to join the focusgov team and help us create great digital services that will positively impact vulnerable peoples' lives. This is a fixed-term contract providing maternity cover until the end of August 2026.
We are a leading provider of digital solutions and transformation services within social care, working with over forty local authorities nationwide. Our Care Leavers App supports young people leaving care, and we have co-produced digital projects for those with special educational needs and disabilities, and children in care. We are engaged in innovative work.
We seek an experienced Account Manager capable of building strong relationships with new and existing clients from the public sector. Key responsibilities include managing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, ensuring service excellence, and meeting targets.
Typical tasks include:
* Managing work requests from public sector clients, coordinating with designers and developers, and preparing quotes.
* Supporting clients via support calls, communicating issues to technical teams, and updating clients on progress.
* Collaborating with Project Managers to ensure project alignment with account goals.
* Developing relationships within client organizations to generate new work and revenue.
* Tracking sales metrics and pipeline in CRM, reviewing performance against KPIs.
* Sharing customer feedback to improve existing products and develop new ones.
* Ensuring compliance with ISO procedures.
Ideal candidates will have:
* At least one year in an Account Manager or similar role within digital, marketing, or software development sectors.
* Experience managing and growing multiple client accounts.
* Strong organizational skills for multitasking and prioritization.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical matters to non-technical clients.
* Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Docs, and project management tools.
* Self-motivation and enthusiasm for working in an innovative, friendly team dedicated to societal impact.
Preferred additional skills include:
* Experience with Hubspot CRM.
* Knowledge of digital project lifecycle, web design, UX, or accessibility.
* Experience working with the public sector.
Important points:
* This is a remote role; team meetings are optional and infrequent.
* Candidates must be UK-based, but location within the UK is flexible.
* The contract runs until August 2026, with potential extension based on performance and trading conditions.
