Experienced GP Receptionist - Part time (20 hours per week)

We are looking for a 30hrs per week part-time Experienced medical receptionist to join our friendly medical practice located in Halesowen. The successful candidate will need to provide a first-class level of admin/reception and customer service to our patients and enjoy working in a reception environment.
The role is demanding but rewarding as we are a busy GP practice serving approx. 9,300 patients, for this reason you will need to possess excellent communication, time management and multi-tasking skills.
Main duties of the job
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to the patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your own judgement and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are complete.
Enter patient information on the computer clinical system as required.
Action tasks sent via workflow.
Knowledge of EMIS Web - Not essential; training will be given.

We are a well-established GP registrar training practice based in Halesowen across two sites. Serving a practice population of approximately 9,300 patients. We are looking for someone to join our team of excellent receptionists and administrators.
Job responsibilities
* Ensure an efficient reception service is provided to patients and visitors to the practice
* Deal with general enquiries, explain procedures and make new/follow up appointments
* Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy and appropriate delivery
* Liaise with GPs/Nurses and carry out tasks as requested
* Other regular duties: Action prescriptions, Chaperone patients (training provided), keep up to date with changes in policy and procedure, advise patients of payments for private services, process payments, computer data entry, filing medical records
* Premises: Open up premises at the start of the day. When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured
* Facilitate communication between patients and members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated agencies.
* Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as required by the Partners, Practice Manager Reception Team Leader.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working as a GP receptionist is essential for this role. Only applicants with experience will be considered.
* Knowledge of EMIS, Docman, AccuRx essential.
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in England and Maths; good English written and language skills
