Our client is a privately owned construction main contractor operating from multiple regional offices. They are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager following recent contract awards across the Midlands & South Yorkshire, leading to sustained growth. Their current turnover exceeds £150m. The company has a strong reputation in sectors including Education, Commercial, Student Accommodation, Mixed Use, Hotel, Care, and Industrial.
They prioritize relationship-building, with over 60% of their workload negotiated with returning clients, fostering lasting relationships.
Contracts Manager Role
The Contracts Manager will oversee 2-3 projects simultaneously, each valued between £5m - £20m, addressing issues as they arise. Weekly site visits are expected, with flexibility to work from sites or the office as needed.
Key Duties
1. Manage client relationships from start to finish.
2. Program contracts and control all project aspects from inception to completion, including budget and delivery.
3. Lead client meetings and resolve issues.
4. Implement Health & Safety plans.
5. Motivate and inspire project teams.
6. Maintain effective communication at all levels.
7. Ensure projects are handed over on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Ideal candidates will have managed projects in construction and refurbishment, with experience in sectors such as education, commercial, student accommodation, hotel, care, mixed use, and industrial schemes. This role suits an ambitious Senior Project Manager seeking progression or a Contracts Manager aiming for a more dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will manage multiple projects daily, supported by site-based Project Managers or Site Managers. They will be expected to deliver projects aligned with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Remuneration & Benefits
The company encourages continuous professional development through training courses. They offer a flexible working environment. Depending on experience, the package can reach up to £85,000 per annum, including a choice between a company car or car allowance.
