Reports to: Dr Andrew Fowell, Clinical Lead
We are looking to appoint an Endoscopy Fellow to the Department of Gastroenterology at Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH), Portsmouth, a busy District General Hospital serving a population of over 600,000.
The Endoscopy Department at QA Hospital has an international reputation as a Centre of Excellence in Endoscopy. Professor Pradeep Bhandari leads an active endoscopy research programme, supervising four research fellows and two full-time research nurses. We participate in and run several national multicentre trials, with a strong publishing record, supporting the fellow's contributions.
As a National JAG Training Centre, QAH is renowned for endoscopy training. We run JAG courses such as Basic Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, and Train the Trainers, and host an annual International Advanced Endoscopy Symposium with national and international faculty. We also conduct workshops on endoscopic submucosal dissection and advanced therapeutic endoscopy (as part of the BSG ESD working group).
We hold regular educational sessions for gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy staff, including case presentations, governance topics, invited talks, and IBD MDT meetings.
