Police are treating a truck fire at Dee Why Bowling Club in Cromer last night as suspicious.
About 10pm last night, Sunday 2 April 2023, emergency services responded to reports of a a loud explosion sound and then a vehicle – a rubbish removal truck- on fire in the carpark of the Dee Why Bowling Club on N Fisher Road, Cromer.
Police Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended along with NSW Fire & Rescue and located the vehicle alight.
The fire was extinguished; however, the vehicle sustained significant damage.
There were no reports of injuries but a police spokesperson commented, “The cause of the fire is yet to be determined however police are treating the incident as suspicious. Inquiries are continuing.”
