Consultant Rheumatologist
NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a consultant Rheumatologist to join our team.
NHS Lanarkshire is responsible for improving health and providing comprehensive health care to a population of approximately 650,000 people within the North and South Lanarkshire local authority areas. NHS Lanarkshire currently employs approximately 12,500 staff.
The Rheumatology service works across the three acute hospital sites – University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Monklands. Outpatient clinics are also provided at Stonehouse Hospital. A team of specialist nurses and Allied Health Professionals work closely with consultants to manage and support Rheumatology patients in the community.
The role is offered on a 7 PA basis with flexibility for those wishing to work less. SPA time is encouraged for those who wish to contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, research and development or other service improvement activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist clinical care for Rheumatology patients across the network.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage and support patients in the community.
* Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
* Engage in medical education and research as required.
