Your responsibilities as Head Butcher
Manage and run the day-to-day operations of the butchery counter
Oversee costing, pricing, and product management
Maintain high standards of presentation and product quality
Serve customers and strengthen the retail offering
Recruit, lead, and develop 1–2 junior team members or apprentices
Ensure the counter is fully stocked and operating efficiently
What we’re looking for in a Head Butcher
Previous experience running a retail butchery counter
Strong knowledge of costing, product control, and margin management
Experience maintaining high product and presentation standards
Ability to lead, train, and develop junior staff or apprentices
Confidence working in a customer-facing retail environment
Working hours: Around 40 hours per week, with a 7-day operation and shared weekend rotation.
