About the job
Ensure the delivery of high availability, fit-for-purpose security and customer information systems by supporting and maintaining on-train and station security and information systems through managing support contracts and commercial arrangements, ensuring suppliers meet obligations, and maintaining system availability and cost control.
Deliver a programme of security and information system interventions aimed at continuous improvement, ensuring work is delivered on scope, budget, and time to fulfill SWR's obligations for on-train and station Security & Information System enhancements as specified in the National Rail agreement.
Provide professional SISS management expertise and technical advice to develop the SWR station security & information systems portfolio. Ensure compliance with Site Access Authority procedures, Network Rail consents, and Regulatory change approvals where appropriate.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Ensuring the integrity and quality of security and information systems.
* Managing supplier contracts for compliance.
* Overseeing contractual and system processes, including change control, IT security, and reporting.
* Managing interfaces between systems.
* Ensuring legislative compliance of systems and contracts.
* Reporting and managing risks as per approved processes.
* Monitoring contract and system performance.
* Identifying areas for system improvements.
* Identifying improvements in contract delivery or related processes.
* Delivering projects to maintain and enhance security and information provision.
* Supporting and implementing relevant safety objectives.
* Building and nurturing relationships with external stakeholders.
* Fostering cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders.
* Acting as a positive role model representing SWR.
You'll need:
* A good education level with strong understanding of the rail industry.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to manage stakeholders through influencing, negotiation, and communication.
* Knowledge of contract management and project delivery within the railway environment.
* Ability to build strong relationships and influence colleagues and external stakeholders.
* Confidence to represent SWR as a subject matter expert with good presentation skills.
* In-depth knowledge of SISS applications, including on-train information systems, station information systems, intruder alarms, access control, video surveillance, and related back-office systems, with understanding of their functional and technical requirements.
Working pattern
Typically, 37 hours across 5 days per week, mainly office hours, with occasional weekend and night work.
