Overview
Location: Gerrards Cross, mixture of home and office working along with occasional travel to various sites in the Thames Valley region
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Responsibilities
* As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in ensuring cost-effectiveness and regulatory compliance whilst helping to deliver projects that maintain and improve vital public services. Your day to day will include:
* Ensuring timely and monthly cost value reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, monthly and quarterly forecasts are produced
* Prepare project budgets, develop cost plans and estimate the quantities and costs of materials, time and labour required for the projects
* Understand and implement the contractual obligations
* Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and helping select contractors and subcontractors. Ensure that procurement follows Thames Water policies and procedures
* Negotiate contract terms with clients, contractors and other relevant parties. Ensure that terms are favourable, equitable and aligned with the project's objectives and constraints
* Degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering or a related field
* Strong knowledge of the IChemE Burgundy Book and experience in water/ wastewater projects
* Excellent numeracy and financial management skills
* Experience in standard forms of contracts and cost control processes, with a view to be able to comment, review and draft documents
* Good understanding of construction law and project management practices
* Proficnecy in quantity surveying software and standard office applications
* Experience co-ordinating and managing a team
