Wedding & Events Manager
Location: Oddfellows On The Park, Cheadle, SK8 1HX
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Overview
Oddfellows On The Park is a 22-bedroom boutique hotel in Cheadle, with an established weddings and events business alongside bedrooms and food and beverage. We are seeking a Wedding & Events Manager to take full ownership of this area.

This is a commercially accountable role responsible for weddings and events revenue, conversion, diary value and delivery standards. You will oversee the full pipeline from first enquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring the business remains structured, profitable and well executed.

Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the senior hotel team, you will protect pricing integrity, strengthen conversion and apply sound judgement to the business we accept and how it is structured.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Revenue Management

• Own and manage the weddings and events enquiry pipeline

• Drive conversion while protecting agreed pricing structures and minimum spends

• Maintain clear visibility of forecasting, booking pace and diary value

• Prioritise higher-value business over volume-led enquiries

• Support strategic pricing decisions in line with seasonal demand

• Manage deposits, contracts and payment schedules with commercial rigour

Client Leadership

• Lead client conversations with authority around structure, timings and spend

• Conduct show rounds and planning meetings, setting clear expectations from the outset

• Guide wedding couples and event clients through a structured planning journey

• Ensure each event is commercially sound as well as well hosted

Operational Coordination

• Oversee event planning from confirmation through to delivery

• Prepare detailed function sheets and event documentation

• Coordinate menus, layouts, timings and supplier liaison

• Work closely with operations, kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth execution

• Conduct post-event follow-up and gather feedback

Standards & Systems

• Refine processes to improve clarity, consistency and efficiency

• Ensure documentation and communication standards are upheld

• Contribute to pipeline reporting and monthly performance review

• Identify opportunities for repeat business and considered upselling

About You
You are an experienced wedding and events professional who understands both the emotional weight of weddings and the commercial structure required to deliver them profitably.

You will ideally have:
Proven experience managing weddings and events within a hotel or premium venue
A strong track record of converting enquiries without discount-led selling
Confidence leading conversations around budget and value
Experience managing pipelines, contracts and forecasting
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A calm, professional presence under pressure
Experience using hotel systems and event management software (Reslynx/Guestline advantageous)

Given the nature of weddings and events, you are also comfortable working occasional weekday evenings and weekends when the business requires it. This is a hands-on management role, and visibility during key events is important.
