Schedule: Thursday and Friday mornings
Type: Ongoing (Starting ASAP)
A welcoming primary school in Heswall is seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This role will focus on providing one-to-one support to a Year 5 student, fostering their academic and personal growth in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide tailored support and assistance to a Year 5 student on a one-to-one basis.
– Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
– Assist with classroom activities, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
– Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the student to encourage confidence and independence.
– Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for the student.
Requirements:
– Previous experience in a similar role, ideally supporting children with additional needs.
– A patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
– Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
– A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
1. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
2. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
3. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
4. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
5. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
