Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Surrey. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Surrey. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support young people referred by local authorities and schools in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver holistic, engaging sessions aligned with individual needs and progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK
Note: It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment status
* This is a Worker engagement with short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers work performed for us
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
