We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school. This role is vital in supporting teaching and learning by supervising classes in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Cover Supervisor:
Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Support students with their learning where appropriate.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
Assist with administrative tasks and cover duties as required.
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage groups of young people effectively.
Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt quickly to different situations.
Previous experience working with secondary-age students (desirable, but not essential).
A good standard of education, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
