Derivatives Sales Performance & Commercial Operations Manager (Hedging Solutions)
Location: London, UK (hybrid/onsite expectations to be agreed)
Compensation: £90,000–£130,000 base salary per year + company performance bonus (discretionary; details discussed during process)
About the Company
We are a growing financial markets firm providing derivatives and hedging solutions to mid-cap clients. Our work supports corporate risk management needs across products such as forwards, futures, swaps, options, and other OTC derivatives.
The Role
We are hiring a senior leader to manage and strengthen our Derivatives and Hedging business development team. This is a leadership and commercial operations role, not an individual contributor position.
You will be accountable for improving team performance, repeat revenue, and execution discipline (pipeline management, forecasting, CRM, and reporting). You will also bring credible derivatives and hedging knowledge to coach the team and support selected client conversations when needed. You will not carry a personal new-business quota, but you will be responsible for team outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Sales leadership and performance management
Manage, coach, and develop a team of business development professionals (including performance management, goal setting, and career development)
Define and track clear team KPIs and activity benchmarks (e.g., pipeline coverage, win rate/close rate, repeat mandate rate, client retention, meeting-to-opportunity conversion, forecast accuracy)
Run structured weekly pipeline reviews and monthly performance reviews, using data to identify bottlenecks and coaching needs
Build consistent consultative selling standards for hedging solutions and corporate risk management conversations
Partner with Trading/Structuring and Compliance to ensure appropriate client engagement and product governance
Represent the firm at selected client meetings and relevant industry events to support the team
Revenue growth and client strategy (team-led)
Drive expansion within existing mid-cap client accounts through the business development team
Develop plays to increase repeat hedging mandates and long-term relationships
Support strategic client conversations as needed (expected client meetings approximately once per month in a support capacity)
Improve client segmentation, coverage models, and prioritization to focus effort on the highest-impact opportunities
Commercial operations, CRM, and reporting
Own the sales operating rhythm and infrastructure: CRM hygiene, pipeline stages/definitions, and forecasting methodology
Build and maintain reporting for revenue tracking, activity, conversion, and client retention (dashboards and recurring insights)
Introduce and embed data-led decision-making across the commercial function
Collaborate with Marketing and senior leadership to improve lead management and campaign-to-revenue measurement
Technology and AI integration (responsible and compliant)
Drive adoption of approved automation and AI-enabled tools to improve prospecting workflows, reporting, and internal processes
Partner with Compliance/IT to ensure client confidentiality, data privacy, and appropriate controls when using automation or AI
Use data to improve forecasting accuracy and client insights, and to reduce manual administrative work for the team
Help build a scalable, modern commercial infrastructure aligned with financial risk management and financial markets best practices
Required Experience and Skills
6+ years of relevant experience in financial markets, such as derivatives sales, structured products, broking, trading, or corporate hedging/risk management solutions
Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams
Demonstrated ability to improve commercial outcomes through process, cadence, and execution (not only personal selling)
Strong working knowledge of derivatives and hedging instruments (forwards/futures, swaps, options, OTC derivatives) and how mid-cap clients use them
Experience with CRM systems and pipeline/forecasting discipline; comfortable working with performance data and reporting
Interest in sales technology, automation, and AI in a regulated environment
Nice to Have
Experience in a trading desk manager role, sales operations/RevOps, or commercial transformation within a derivatives/hedging business
Understanding of documentation and controls relevant to OTC markets (e.g., ISDA concepts) as applicable to the role
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CFA/FRM) are valued but not required
Working Style and Attributes
Strategic, commercially focused, and hands-on with coaching
Credible communicator with both client-facing and internal stakeholders
Comfortable driving change, accountability, and consistent standards
Motivated by building high-performing teams rather than carrying an individual sales target
