Overview
We are seeking a Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in the Southwest. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering a complex, high-profile project, overseeing construction activities and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate site construction activities
- Manage subcontractors and chair coordination meetings
- Liaise with clients, site teams and project stakeholders
- Review drawings, technical documents and site activities
- Identify project risks and opportunities, maintaining the Risk Register
- Raise and manage TQs, RFIs, NCRs and other project documentation
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, RAMS, permits and site procedures
- Support planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and project handover activities
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a site-based engineering role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and best practice
- Experience working within complex project environments
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management systems
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- CSCS Ca
Desired Skills
- Experience with BIM, Autodesk, Bentley, Aphex or Primavera P
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations, HSAWA and NEC contract
- Experience delivering projects in regulated or highly controlled environments
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
- Chartered status or working towards Chartershi
- APM, PRINCE2, SMSTS, IOSH or relevant site qualification
- Nuclear industry experience or training
