Location: Hybrid working with three days per week (Tues/Wed/Thur) in the Borehamwood office
Contract: Permanent – 39.5 hours per week;
Salary: £26,300 - £27,000 per year

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Travel Consultant to join our friendly and high‑performing Sales Team.
This role sits at the heart of the HF experience and you’ll be central to making our guests and members feel valued. You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our members and guests, helping them plan fantastic walking holidays in the UK and abroad. From first enquiry to confirmed booking, you’ll combine excellent service with attention to detail, ensuring every holiday starts smoothly and reflects the quality HF is known for. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your customers’ bookings and ensure that each and every one has the holiday that they’re looking for.

Working hours
Our team works a mix of shifts:
* Monday–Friday: 9.00am–5.30pm or 10.30am–7.00pm
* Alternate Saturdays: 9.00am–1.00pm
* Occasional Bank Holiday working (with time off in lieu)
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting our members and guests -Handling inbound calls and emails, answering queries, providing quotes, and managing bookings, amendments and cancellations with care and accuracy.
* Sales with a human touch -Making outbound calls to follow up on quotes, discuss holiday options, promote HF membership and help guests find the holiday that’s right for them.
* Managing reservations -Using our reservations and membership systems to ensure all booking details, preferences and special requests are recorded correctly.
* Delivering outstanding service - Handling questions and concerns with empathy and a solution‑focused approach, escalating issues appropriately when needed.

* With your attention to detail - Ensuring accuracy across all bookings, payments and records, helping to create a seamless and stress‑free guest experience.
* By working to shared goals - Contributing to team performance by meeting KPIs such as call response, conversion, customer satisfaction and sales targets.
* Through collaborating with your HF colleagues - Working closely with colleagues across sales, operations and member services to deliver the very best outcomes for our members and guests.
* Supporting day‑to‑day operations - Ensuring we’ve got everything covered for each customer.
Who we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring:
* A customer service or sales background, ideally in a phone‑based or office environment
* Confidence speaking with customers and building rapport over the phone
* Experience using a reservations system, CRM, or the ability to learn new IT systems quickly
* A methodical, organised approach with strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills and good numerical reasoning
* A positive, resilient attitude and enjoyment of working in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment
A passion for travel and walking is a real bonus, but not essential — enthusiasm, warmth and a genuine desire to help people have great experiences matter most.
