What are we looking for?
Are you a skilled Garden Designer interested in a new challenge with Buckinghamshire’s most prestigious Landscape design and construction Company? This is an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Design team, and be part of our Design, Landscaping and Maintenance company, based in Penn, near High Wycombe. We’re now in our 25th year and have big ambitions to develop our business.
Is this for YOU?
Our small and flexible design team now needs another member, preferably an experienced designer used to managing their own projects in their entirety, able to take on client management responsibilities once embedded in the team, and helping those clients right through the design and construction process. You should be hungry to learn more about designing amazing high-end projects and be excited to work in a collaborative team with designers with decades of experience, top architects and broader project teams on a broad range of domestic projects. You will be working in small teams directly with clients; all our designers are client-facing and involved in the project details, not just production from afar.
What We Need
* Passion and creativity
You will use your talent to overcome real-world problems, assist with budgets and manage these with clients to deliver real gardens, not just designs. Every step requires meticulous work, understanding of sites, openness to challenge, and a willingness to learn.
* Technical skill
A formal Garden Design or Landscape Architecture qualification is ideal but not essential. Real-world experience is valued highly. Designs are modelled in SketchUp and AutoCAD, so a strong level of SketchUp proficiency and a willingness to learn AutoCAD is required. A good knowledge of plants and ability to create planting plans is also highly valued.
* Personal Attributes
Fluent and comfortable English written and spoken, reliability, ability to work in a team, and ability to manage time to tight deadlines. An engaging personality and ability to listen and interpret client needs for new prospect meetings.
* Location
We collaborate between team members and visit local sites and clients. You will work daily from our converted barn in Penn, near Beaconsfield. This is essentially a full-time, office-based role; a full driving licence and own transport are essential.
What’s in it for you?
* Join a broader design and landscaping community with strong camaraderie.
* Competitive salary and company pension scheme.
* 28 days holidays (including bank holidays), ongoing support and learning opportunities, and the chance to follow design projects from design through build with clients.
* Commitment to diversity and a supportive employer who backs you when you go the extra mile.
If you’ve read this far and feel this is the right role, please apply by sending your CV and portfolio with a cover letter. We respond to every application.
