Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Therapeutic Radiographer who is passionate about teaching and education. The Practice Educator will coordinate the provision and development of clinical placements for preregistration students and apprentices in the radiotherapy department. The Sussex Cancer Centre radiotherapy department is based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and operates satellite services in Preston Park Radiotherapy Centre and Eastbourne Radiotherapy Unit. Attendance at all sites will be required.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate provision and development of clinical placements for preregistration students and apprentices in the radiotherapy department.
* Provide support and guidance to staff regarding clinical teaching and supervision.
* Act as a liaison between the department and higher education institutions.
* Support staff training and education as required.
* As a clinical expert, support patients through their cancer journey.
* Support an increase in radiotherapy student and apprentice placement capacity by demonstrating complex organisational skills and developing resources.
* Maintain a high level of clinical skills and deputise for the Radiotherapy Practice Development Manager when required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Advanced understanding and knowledge of the radiotherapy process.
* Proven experience in teaching and education within a radiotherapy setting.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with staff and higher education institutions.
