Lead Portfolio Pricing Analyst (Portfolio Management)
Location: This position is largely remote, with occasional travel. Offices are located in Kent, Cambridgeshire, Manchester, London, and Stoke-On-Trent.
Role Overview: We’re seeking a Lead Portfolio Pricing Analyst to join our expanding Portfolio Management team within the dynamic world of personal lines underwriting. This role offers an opportunity to shape pricing strategies and performance monitoring frameworks, contributing to our product portfolio's profitability and growth.
As a senior team member, you will lead portfolio performance analysis and pricing interventions, utilizing analytical expertise, commercial insight, and cross-functional collaboration to influence business decisions. You will support and mentor analysts, drive innovation and best practices in pricing, and serve as a trusted expert across the company.
The team develops new modeling techniques and processes, building and updating risk models that underpin our rates, especially in aggregator channels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and evolve performance monitoring frameworks across product lines.
* Drive tactical pricing initiatives and optimize opportunities through analytical insights.
* Oversee pricing recommendations to improve portfolio performance and profitability.
* Collaborate with Underwriting, Technical Modeling, and Data teams on product development, model calibration, and risk feedback.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, communicating analytical insights and pricing impacts clearly.
* Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Contribute to the Pricing roadmap aligned with strategic growth objectives.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Significant experience in Personal Lines Pricing, including leadership roles.
* Proficiency in predictive modeling techniques (e.g., Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Nets, Clustering).
* Strong skills in R, Python, PySpark, SAS, or SQL.
* Ability to interpret performance data and make commercial recommendations.
* Experience with WTW’s Radar and Emblem software is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills for translating complex analysis into clear insights.
* Quantitative degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Actuarial Science.
