Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist within the North East Merton IRH team. The role sits within the Community Service Line, which includes community-based mental health teams such as Integrated Recovery Hubs and Early Intervention services. The post involves working closely with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), Recovery Support Workers and Employment Specialists, and with the Involvement Team to support service users and carers in developing and achieving occupational goals.
The post uses the Model of Human Occupation for standardised assessments and employs a manualised, evidence-based treatment called GLOW (Graduated Living Outside of the Ward). An 8-week group intervention, based on Recovery Through Activity, promotes recovery goals and aims to reconnect clients with community resources. All community OTs receive basic training in Sensory Profiling to support clients with additional sensory needs. Professional supervision is provided by the Lead Occupational Therapist, with line management supervision from the team manager. Experienced Band 5s may apply for development opportunities to progress to Band 6.
We are committed to offering an excellent service and actively promote Occupational Therapy within the teams. We value partnership with external organisations, including social prescribers and peer support workers, and we strive to be inclusive and anti-racist. Flexible working, career development and a range of benefits are available to support positive, welcoming environments for our people and their careers.
