We are looking for an enthusiastic NMC-registered nurse to join our friendly and highly skilled TB nursing team. While experience in TB care is preferred, a willingness to learn and grow in this field is essential.
As a valued member of our tri-site TB service across Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, and St Mary’s Hospital, you will provide high-quality care to both adults and children, in inpatient and outpatient settings. Our service also delivers TB healthcare at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, offering you a truly varied and impactful role.
Main duties of the job
1. To demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in dealing with patients / clients, relatives and colleagues, maintaining good customer relations. This will include provision of information and support to relatives/ Carers as appropriate.
2. Case management support activities such as re-engaging patients with treatment, escorting patients and phlebotomy.
3. Provide support for those with TB disease to enable successful completion of treatment.
4. To participate in the business planning process, helping to identify areas for service development.
5. To effectively and efficiently use resources & maintain adequate stock levels, adhering to procedures for the use of supplies.
6. Actively manage own annual leave in line with Trust and local Policy and Procedure.
7. Identify and keep a record of all cases of tuberculosis, in collaboration with the Health Protection Agency and London TB Register notification systems.
8. Demonstrate through a holistic approach to nursing care and day to day clinical issues an understanding of evidence based practice.

9. Registered nurse
10. Diploma / first level degree in nursing or related subject
11. SLICE or equivalent
12. Degree level learning or willingness to work towards

13. Evidence of recent continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
14. Post registration experience, at senior Band 5 level in the community, medicine, respiratory, HIV, Infectious Diseases or TB
15. Experience working with vulnerable adults and children including those experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health and immigration problems
16. Experience of multi professional working

17. Able to supervise and manage junior staff

19. Sound knowledge of current professional nursing & health care issues
