We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead our School Street programme. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable transport solutions and encouraging the adoption of innovative initiatives within our communities.
Sheffield has a bold vision to become a net zero-carbon city, working with our partners, residents, businesses and city institutions to help make this a reality.
You will lead on:
1. The development of Sheffield City Council’s School Streets project to improve safety around school gates, increase active journeys to and from school, and improve air quality around schools.
2. Delivering, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and evaluating School Street schemes across Sheffield.
3. Support schools and their communities to successfully implement and maintain School Streets.
You will have:
4. Proven experience of coordinating school street delivery, including planning engagement activity and supporting others involved in delivery.
5. Experience of monitoring and evaluating School Streets, writing clear reports/briefings, using evidence (for example feedback, site observations or basic data) to recommend improvements.
6. Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
8. A genuine passion for sustainability, innovation, and improving local communities.
If you join our dedicated friendly team, you will enjoy a supportive and flexible work environment in Sheffield’s award-winning outdoor city.
