Responsibilities
As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading electrical design delivery across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
2. Providing technical leadership and mentoring within the electrical engineering team.
3. Managing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines.
4. Producing and reviewing electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
5. Ensuring compliance with UK water industry standards and best practice.
6. Supporting design reviews, value engineering, and risk management activities.
7. Acting as a key technical interface with stakeholders, clients, and framework partners.
8. Driving innovation and continuous improvement across AMP8 design delivery.
Essential Experience
9. Proven experience as a Principal Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer within the UK water sector.
10. Strong technical background in electrical design for water and wastewater infrastructure.
11. Experience working within AMP frameworks or with major UK water utilities.
12. Excellent understanding of UK engineering standards and design methodologies.
13. Proven ability to lead electrical design and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
14. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
15. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
16. Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
17. Professional membership (e.g. IET) preferred.
