The Trust Medical Education department are seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join its teaching faculty, to deliver psychiatry teaching to medical students. This will enhance the existing Medical Education Faculty in the trust.
This is a Medical Bank position with flexibility to sign up to facilitate teaching sessions at your availability.

Main duties of the job
The post holder, in collaboration with the Trust Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, will take a lead role in delivering the in-house teaching programme for undergraduate medical students undertaking Psychiatry placements within the Trust. This will include contributing to regular student induction days, coordinating fellow psychiatric trainees to teach students and organising and delivering clinical interview skills simulation training.
The post holder will respond to student feedback regarding the teaching programme in order to ensure an appropriate range and level of teaching topics is provided. There will be opportunities to audit aspects of undergraduate programmes.
The post will offer adult learning opportunities allowing the postholder to develop educational insight, skills and can contribute to a portfolio of work linked to a PGCert or to support AoME membership. This will include lecturing and small group work with medical undergraduates
The post holder will have administrative and practical support from Medical Education Administrators.
The post holder will be supported to attend faculty development days.

Training and Qualifications
* GMC full registration with current licence to practise
* Prizes or distinctions. Presentation of work at a national or international meeting. Publications in peer reviewed journals. Additional degree or MSc in relevant subject area.
* Working towards a higher professional qualification in Medical Education
* MRCPsych or equivalent
Experience
* Significant Experience in teaching undergraduate health care students
* Experience delivering and organising teaching sessions
* Previous experience in medical education
* Demonstrates knowledge of career pathways in medical education. Good general knowledge / broad interest in academic medicine. Research experience.
