Job Title: Safeguarding Children Social Worker – (Children and Families) Agency: Service Care Solutions Location: Ellesmere Port Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing Pay Rate: £38.99 per hour umbrella £34.26 PAYE (inclusive) £30.57 PAYE (exclusive) Job Overview Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Safeguarding Children Social Worker (Grade 10) to join a Children and Families team within a Local Authority based in Ellesmere Port. This is a frontline safeguarding role working with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns and requires a confident and experienced practitioner. Key Responsibilities Undertake statutory safeguarding work including Child Protection and Child in Need cases Complete assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 & 2004 Manage a caseload of children and families with complex safeguarding concerns Prepare high-quality assessments, plans, and reports Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, and Reviews Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans Undertake risk assessments and respond effectively to safeguarding issues Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Police, Education, and Early Help Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records Participate in supervision, team meetings, and training Essential Requirements Qualified Social Worker Registered with Social Work England Recent Children’s Social Work experience within a Local Authority Strong experience in safeguarding and child protection Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills Ability to manage a complex caseload in a fast-paced environment Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable) Why Apply Competitive hourly rate Ongoing contract opportunity Opportunity to work within an experienced Children and Families service Recruitment and compliance support from Service Care Solutions To apply or for more information, please email: andrew.wiles@servicecare.org.uk
