Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is welcoming applications for a full‑time permanent Consultant Midwife post to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. The new post is designed to strengthen our midwifery leadership structure. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and forward‑thinking individual who is committed to teamwork and to delivering safe, high‑quality care.
Key Responsibilities
The Post Holder will develop collaborative strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with colleagues across Midwifery, Obstetric, Neonatal, and Anaesthetic services through application of the four pillars of the Consultant Midwife.

* Education, training and development research, and evaluation
The post holder will work across professional and organisational boundaries to develop local services that meet national and international benchmarks, accessible, acceptable, clinically effective, and centred in evidence‑based practice. This requires innovative thinking, complex information processing, overcoming communication barriers, and negotiating positive change.
In partnership with midwives, medical staff, maternity and neonatal voices, the post holder will promote and provide equitable and expert, responsive care for all women, birthing people, and their families. The post holder will take a strategic lead on designing and implementing effective care pathways for pregnant women and birthing people with a key focus on addressing inequalities in all aspects of care.
