Band 5 Dietitian - Non UK residents

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our friendly and supportive team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, part of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.
About the role
Suitable for a newly or recently qualified dietitian who wishes to expand their dietetic skills and knowledge. Opportunities for career progression and development are available. The post will be based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary but may require travel to other sites within the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a site‑based team under the support of experienced dietitians.
* Provide inpatient care across medical, surgical, orthopaedic, oncology and stroke management areas.
* Participate in outpatient clinics.
* Gain experience in nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, paediatrics and other dietetic specialist areas where appropriate.
* Support training of student dietitians.
* Utilise excellent IT facilities and engage with personal development and training opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
* HCPC registered dietitian.
* Recent dietetic experience in an acute setting.
* Comprehensive experience at undergraduate level or Band 5 of the core competencies within dietetics.
* Evidence of current best practice knowledge in dietetics.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Commitment to achieve student‑training qualifications within two years of taking up the post.
* Relevant dietetic courses beyond the basic dietetic course to attain HCPC.
* Member of British Dietetic Association.
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
* Assessment, observation, evaluation and reporting skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
* Ability to work single‑handedly with guidance from dietetic colleagues.
* Basic knowledge of health and social care legislation and guidelines.
* Understanding of team dynamics and ability to build effective working relationships.
* Experience using electronic patient records.
* Experience collaborating across professions and agencies.
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet unexpected circumstances related to patient care.
* Commitment to lifelong learning.
* Ability to comply with the Trust's policies.
* Willingness to travel between Trust sites and clinics as required.

We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI provide full emergency departments and consultant‑led services, while WGH offers an urgent treatment centre for non‑life‑threatening conditions. All three hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, daycase and inpatient surgery services.
