Job summary:
Dexters Pharmacy in Bognor Regis is seeking a motivated and dependable Pharmacy Dispenser to join our growing team. In this role, you'll support the safe and efficient preparation of prescriptions, provide excellent customer service, and assist with daily pharmacy operations. Experience is preferred but not required—we welcome applicants eager to learn and willing to train toward an NVQ. Key Responsibilities:
* Dispensing medications and medication compliance aids (blister packs): Counting and labelling medication boxes, including blister packs; preparing medications for patients.
* Prescription handling: Receiving, processing, and verifying prescriptions; including processing repeat prescription requests.
* Stock management: Maintaining accurate stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage.
* Customer service: Answering patient questions, providing information about medications, and assisting with over-the-counter purchases/ queries.
* Record keeping: Updating patient medication records, recording stock movements, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Other duties: Assisting with stocktaking, deliveries, and other tasks as needed. Potential to be trained towards being a vaccinator for COVID and flu.
Qualifications:
* Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science
* Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred, but not essential
* Willingness to undertake pharmacy dispenser training (e.g. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent)
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
* A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to learn and grow in a healthcare setting
