Overview
We are pleased to invite applications for an experienced Research Project Manager to support Respiratory Medicine research studies at Wythenshawe Hospital. The position is funded by the Northwest Lung Centre Charity for a 12-month period.
Academic Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester is a large and vibrant community, with PIs working across airways, infection, and inflammation, lung cancer and cough. The research covers biological timing, exacerbations, pollution, biomarkers and mathematical modelling, aiming to deliver world‑leading translational respiratory research across the lifespan and train the next generation.
Responsibilities
* Ensure smooth management of the research programmes and production of deliverables and milestones on time and within budget.
* Work effectively across complex research organisations to meet project timelines and instigate change as required.
* Use specialized knowledge to advise on funding strategy.
* Take initiative where necessary, identify and break down tasks required for multidisciplinary research group projects.
* Delegate and assign tasks to others.
Qualifications
* Experience in research project management, preferably within biological or medical sciences.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong organisational, communication and IT skills.
